The counseling cell at DBIS believes that to be a vibrant community of learners, innovators and transformers who build a just and caring global society, holistic growth with emotional wellbeing is very crucial for everyone.
The support is provided to all the stakeholders through various emotional well-being sessions.
We believe in an ‘OPEN DOOR’ policy which means any student or staff who feels a need, identified by self is free to approach any of the school counselors whom they feel comfortable with, at a time suitable during the school hours.
Counseling support with a person-centered approach is provided to the students from Jr.Kg to Grade 12 depending on the behavioral concerns identified which interfere with the holistic development of the child.
The referral is through teachers, parents and often self.
The main aim of the support provided through counseling is to promote managing self in all the areas of routine through self-awareness, balancing emotions, responsible decision making, sensitivity towards others, fostering healthy interpersonal relationships and expression of feelings, respecting diversity and social awareness. Referrals to external specialists are made for concerns beyond the scope of school counseling and are monitored through regular follow-ups.
