The Learning Support Department has a unique and robust early intervention and screening program and a successful response to intervention model which ensures that all the students having learning needs are identified early and provided appropriate learning support.

The Learning Support Department caters to students identified with Specific Learning Disorder,  at-risk of SLD , Attention Deficit Disorder/ Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Global Developmental Delays, Speech, Language and Communication Disorders and other neurodevelopmental disorders. It also provides learning support to students who need support to learn English as an Additional Language.

The Learning Support Team  includes special educators and an occupational therapist. It provides specialised direct intervention sessions, in class support  and differentiation support for students identified through the screening as requiring intensive learning support in the areas of reading, writing, maths and pre-requisite learning skills. Additionally students with challenges in sensory processing , attention, organisation, fine motor skills, etc are also provided classroom based Occupational therapy strategies.

The members of the Learning Support Department conduct study skills sessions to equip the student with effective learning strategies and orient the students to the access arrangements as applicable.The requisite access arrangements are effectively implemented as per the IBDP/ IGCSE/ AS A levels norms in coordination with the Examination Officer.

The Learning Support Department strives to innovate and customise the interventions based on the needs of the students. It has collaborated with the Sports department to deliver the Sports Sensory Integration program in the Early years to ensure the concerns are identified and addressed early. The program works towards strengthening the base of the learning pyramid by focusing on developing and enhancing the sensory motor skills.

The Learning Support Department works in close cooperation with home room teachers, subject teachers, external specialists including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Behavioral Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, medical professionals including Developmental Pediatricians, Psychiatrists, Audiologists, Ophthalmologists, Neurologists and parents ensuring a conducive learning environment for the students well being.
