Community Outreach is carried forward in middle school through various engagements which help bring out the Cambridge learner attributes of students being engaged, confident, responsible, reflective and innovative. They are given opportunities to reach out to and interact with various organisations and work towards various causes. Some community outreach initiatives at DBIS are :
- Grade 7 students taught Scratch to the students from Angel Express as an activity in ICT.
- Grade 8 students attended a session of Wheelchair Cricket organised by the Sports and the Global Perspectives Department. A group of wheelchair cricketers were invited to school where they spoke to the students about the challenges they face in sport as differently abled and how sport is empowering. They also expressed their wish to have more exposure and facilities for the differently abled sportspeople.
- The Bosco Community Sports Club organised a friendly game between the students of a special school along with some students from our middle school. This was an opportunity for them to play and interact with the intellectually differently abled children from Shishu Kalyan Kendra.
